I have small hole bath tissue three quarter inch hole on the cardboard.** A: I use the spindle without any difficulty on all rolls I buy. I don't know exact "knob" size that you would insert roll onto but I believe it would not be sufficiently small enough to load roll. **Q: How much space is there between the two vertical bars? And what is the diameter of the bar?** A: The bars are about the same size as a normal horizontal TP holder. There is just enough space between the vertical bars to slide on a few spare rolls. **Q: Will the base scratch my floor?** A: No. I have porcelain tile flooring in my bathroom. I bought this to have TP on the other side of my toilet after shoulder surgery. About 6 months later I gave it to my sister when she had hand surgery.
