WHO KNEW! The stock permanent rear foam filter in my aging vacuum was full of dirt and nasty. It just makes sense that they make that part also a user-replaceable part now in newer stick vacuums. I've very glad to have run across this upgrade kit for my older vacuum. Some instructions say just to twist your old filter off ... nope, nada, not with mine. Mine is held very tightly with clips. It wouldn't budge with any amount of man turning. I found a plastic spudger and with some force was able to pop the old filter off. Then I could install this new housing and the post HEPA filter. Ahhhhh.... now I can breathe again! What a great upgrade for such a small amount of money. The noise level seems slightly reduced as well with this rear filter. The quality is like OEM, and now I can use those post filters and keep the air coming out of my vacuum nice and clean. Simple squeeze the base of the previous back plate and it pops off and just twist this one on and boom you have a great hepa filter on your vacuum to increase lifespan and collect all the tiny dust particles. The new back piece was easy to snap on and the filter is so simple to twist and lock on and off. This was a fantastic upgrade and wish I had known sooner.
