I built a custom exhaust fan / vent setup using a home "grow" fan and shop vac 2.5" ducting. The fan and exhaust are 4". I exhaust everything out the window through a dryer fitting and baffle. The 2.5 ducting gives me velocity and 4" gives me the volume. It works well under my microscope / soldering stage.
