## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used on rain barrels that have ridges and are not smooth?**
A: The short answer is maybe because it’s going depend on how deep the ridges and valleys are. If the O-ring can be seated and held in place then it will work

**Q: Can this diverter system be used for open topped rain barrels?  I have 4 upcycle 55 gallon containers linked at the bottom.**
A: Not sure, but Maybe- if you’re able to secure it somehow from the open top. I drilled holes on sides of two rainbarrels near tops & connected them that way.  But, didn’t have it sticking down into rainbarrels from open tops.  Not really sure how that would work- need gravity or leveled to make water flow from one into other.

**Q: How does this attach to the barrel?  How long is the hose and what diameter?**
A: This kit includes a 1.5" diameter hole saw, rubber hose seal and 5' accordion hose. After drilling the hole in the barrel, the hose seal is crimped and installed then the hose end is press fitted into the seal. It's a friction fit, but keep in mind this its at the water line so there is no pressure concerns. Detailed instruction are included to walk you through the process. Regards

**Q: Can this be connected from the downspout to the rainbarrel via a diverter?**
A: It is possible to use a longer hose from the EarthMinded Downspout and diverters over to the hose seal in the side of the tank.

Please keep in mind that if it is not supported that the weight of the water will cause it to sag pull out and possibly become damaged
