How old is the storage tank. If 3 or more years replace the tank because the bladder goes bad and loses pressure. If you remove the valve stem and black juice comes out the bladder has failed. If not I found the tank dry air pressure has to be between 5 to 7 lbs. when empty of water. Mine is at 6 psi. Need a low pressure tire gauge. You might also have to replace the shut off valve on your tank. lots of steps but mine stopped hammering when work was done.
