After reading the literature that came with the mats, my husband said that we couldn't use them on our grill because the temperature almost always gets above 500 degrees, and the accompanying information cautioned against using them with temperatures that high. When the sincerely nice vendor wrote to ask if I was satisfied with their product, I told him that I had cut them to fit our toaster oven because I hadn't realized our grill was the infrared type that gets much hotter than a regular grill, but that the mats were working fine in our toaster oven. So the vendor graciously sent me another set of mats so we could try them on the grill, and sure enough, they worked great! The temperature initially gets up to 700 degrees, but there is no flame, and any melting would only happen if there was direct contact with a flame.We also noticed that the food cooked much faster with the mats, probably because so much of the heat is 'trapped' underneath the mats. There seemed to be less grease during the cooking, and the cleanup was so much easier using the mats. He sprayed some water on them after removing the food, in order to cool them off before removing them. Once removed, it takes just a couple minutes to clean them for the next grilling. And, by the way, all the grilled meats (chicken, sausage, pork loin, and ribs) contained the requisite grill marks, and were absolutely delicious! We both highly recommend these mats for use with infrared grills. ### ⭐⭐ Nice but.... *by S***1 on May 28, 2015* Wanted to like these so much after seeing the infomercial but the meat just swims around in its own juices and my asparagus rolls away of the grill. I'm trying to reduce the fat on my food so not a good use for me. They are good for reducing the need to clean your grill frequently but I will try another product. Would recommend for grilling other vegetables. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ AMAZING PRODUCT! The negative reviews are WRONG! *by J***B on August 11, 2015* I almost didn't buy this because I read a few bad reviews, but we just bought a new infrared gas grill and I wanted to try these so I went for it. I am so glad I did! Last night I made BBQ chicken breast with Raspberry Chipotle Sauce, cooked over medium heat. This product totally enhanced the dish, beside not having a huge mess on my grill to clean up, the sauce was 'crisped' onto my chicken breast, just the way I like it and even better, since I could not have had the same result over just the grill and what a mess that would have been to clean up. So tonight, I decided to make hamburger patties, and 80/20 blend. I like a well done burger and cooked ours over 450 degree heat. I was worried about this because I had read a review about the grease spilling off the mat and causing a flame up so I watched it carefully. As you can see from the picture, so such thing happened and again, wonderful meal with NO mess - just a perfectly well done, burger with a great char. The residue you see on the photo just shakes off into the trash once the mat cools down and then into the dishwasher to clean.
