This book lacks humor. It's pretty much every cliche that's already been published in NA books: manwhore H who is impossibly good-looking and rich...an h who has limited sexual experience yet is "amazing" in bed...of course she's poor and needs to be rescued...her BFF is a walking gay stereotype...the ending is completely unbelievable. The only character I really liked was the queen.I read this book every night before going to sleep and it took me almost two weeks, because I kept finding sleep more appealing. Maybe instead of writing a review I should just post a video of an old lady yelling, "Get off my lawn!" ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3.5 stars *by N***4 on Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2016* Overall Opinion: This was a cute, relatively light read. I enjoyed the royalty aspect, because that was something different. I did find a few similarities to other stories that I made note of. We had the Christian Grey helicopter pilot and shaving similarities, as well as the pretty woman polo game and colleague proposition similarity. It didn't bother me, but they just stood out to me as something to note. I was frustrated with the unanswered questions I was left with in the abrupt ending, because I needed better closure! I think it would've made the book so much better if we didn't have the epilogue directly after the conflict was resolved! It would've given time to better explain what happened with both of their families and to properly set up a future for them. As it was, I was a little confused by some of the stuff that was thrown in the epilogue to briefly handle some of the big issues the couple faced. There were also a few time jumps that I wish had explained what had happened during that time that we missed a little better (especially the polo match conflict), because it felt a little like the issue was being swept under the rug.**See Goodreads.com/NMmomof4 for my full review with spoilers**Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Olivia and Nicholas's story. Olivia is struggling to keep her Dad's restaurant open and take care of her family, and she is not all that thrilled to be propositioned by a hot guy one night. Nicholas has been given an order by his grandmother the queen that he has 6 months before he needs to make an engagement announcement to help unite his country. He is in the US trying to get his brother back home, and he is instantly attracted and intruiged by Olivia when he meets her. He starts pursuing her, and she gives in for a summer fling. There is some family and royalty drama, some sexy times, and some funny moments...but they do get a HFN ending.POV: This alternated between Olivia and Nicholas's POV.Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I did have a few issues with some of the time jumps and the abrupt ending (see closure section). I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well otherwise.Instalove: No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings. Instalust? Yes.H rating: 3.5 stars. Nicholas. I liked him until he pushed the h away. He did make up for it in the end.h rating: 4 stars. Olivia. I liked her. She was sweet, loyal, and sassy. I would call it a HFN because of my unanswered questions, but others might call it a HEA.How I got it: I paid the $4.99 on Amazon for it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ It was okay, but would have been so much better if the Prince wasn't such a jerk! *by C***. on Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2017* I really liked this story, although I could have done with a lot less torrid sex scenes. And when I say sex scenes, I mean very long drawn out explicit sex scenes that leaves nothing to the imagination. And not just one, either. This book is completely littered with them. I am in no way a prude when it comes to a good sex scene, but this story bordered on the side of exotic romance.I wasn't to sure about Nick in the beginning, the way he acted like such a jerk on the day they first met. But then Olivia put him in his place, and the way the sparks flew between them had me changing my mind. But...then he towards the end of the story turned back into a complete jerk again. He never once took into consideration of how Olivia was feeling about being in a strange country and all alone for the most part. Nor did he think anything was wrong about asking her to hang around as his mistress, while he married another woman and started a family. Really??? How disgusting!!! She already felt like she wasn't good enough for him, and the way the Queen and some of the staff treated her well....that just about put the last nail in her coffin, right? Of course not, because the back-bone she had when we first met her----and it's the one thing I loved about her the most----was gone, and a doormat took her place.Of course there was a lot of hilarious moments, as well as a few tear-jerking moments, too. I loved all of the characters, except maybe the Queen. Although I did think that the Queen and Prince Henry (younger brother) were excellent characters in this story. But where I felt a little sad for Henry for all he'd been through in his short life, I actually felt nothing but pure hatred for the Queen! She could have change the laws where Nick and Olivia were concerned, she just wasn't willing to budge. Talk about controll freak!!!I had a real love-hate relationship with this book.
