## Description

The hand-operated cream separator RZ-OPS is simple and easy to use. It has only the most necessary things for the performance of its functions, there’re no extra additions that can increase its cost. Dairy separators help people quickly get cream and skim milk, as well as preserve perishable dairy products, especially in hot weather. Getting quality cream by hand is very difficult, as the milk contains fats in relatively small amounts in the form of tiny balls of a size of several microns that are not easy to separate from the total mass. The task of cream separator is the separation of whole milk into cream and skim milk with simultaneous removal of contaminants. This separator can process about 50 liters of milk per hour. The bowl of this milk separator is made of high-tensile steel, its housing and other details are made of high-grade plastic. Important Advantages of The Separator RZ-OPS 1 liter of cream (15-50% fat) in less than 12 minutes Additional cleaning during separation due to the special internal filter Compact size for use in the kitchen compared to other models of separators, only 32*29*47 cm

Review: Works great. Fun to use. Instructions in English would be nice - This product comes from Ukraine, and so do the instructions! The English translation is virtually impossible to understand. Unit appears to be well-built, and it really strips the cream out of my goat milk efficiently and quickly. The plastic tub at the top holds 2 gallons, so you can really process a lot of milk quickly. Cleaning is kind of time consuming, but not too difficult. The biggest anxiety I had was trying to figure out the horribly-worded English translation on first assembling this unit! For anyone buying this unit, I recommend it highly, and save you some grief by giving you some pointers in English! 1. Make sure the milk is WARM, like right out of your pasteurizer or fresh from the goat if you don't pasteurize. If the milk is cool, you won't get any cream at all. 2. Fill the crank case almost to the handle base with 90 weight Hypoid Gear Oil! This is important! Don't use motor oil. Change the oil after 10 uses initially, then every 100 uses after that. NOTE: You have to remove the unit to fill/change the oil because the fill/drain hole is mounted on the side of the unit. DO NOT OVERFILL this or it will leak oil all over your table. The handle gasket is NOT oil tight. 3. The spinning seperator head has an allen screw on top of it. This is your adjustment for how thick/thin you want your cream. Ideal initial setting is FLUSH with the white plastic surface. Don't tighten it down like I did or you won't get any cream at all. 4. The spinning seperator comes completely apart, and you MUST do this after every use. There is a rubber gasket at the bottom that you must remove and clean. The white plastic piece must also come off for cleaning. I use a walnut pick to remove the gasket because it is a little sticky and hard to remove. I wash all the steel parts in the D/W, but the plastic parts are NOT D/W safe! 5. The cream comes out the TOP spout (remember cream rises to the top) and the milk comes out the bottom spout. 6. They recommend you flush the unit with some skim milk when you are done. This works great. 7. Cleaning is MUCH EASIER if you run HOT soapy water through the works after each use. This is NOT SUFFICIENT to really clean the unit, but it gets the milkfat solids out of the crevices in the plastic parts that you have to wash by hand. NOTES - You MUST screw this unit down to a table top or a board because of the torque required to operate the unit. I screwed mine to a 2x8 scrap of wood, and then CLAMP it down to my table with a wood working clamp. This worked great because I don't think my wife would want this unit permanently mounted to our kitchen table. If you have a permanent milk processing table, then that's what should be done. NEVER leave liquid in the unit while not spinning. Despite the "valve" being closed, it will seep out and leak all over. The valve is a plastic compression piece that you don't want to press in too tightly. It's just made of soft plastic. Complaints: I wish the top pieces were made of metal. The plastic is kind of soft (although it is not flimsy my any means) and I worry about it warping or breaking in the future. Also, it is not D/W safe, and cleaning the inside of those spouts requires a bottle brush. Like I said above, it's kind of a pain to clean it. I wish the tub at the top had a cover. Any dust, dirt or hair blowing around will get in your milk, so you have to use it inside a house. Using it outside in the barn is only an option if you cover the tub with a dish towel or something to keep the dirt out. Only regret is I should have bought the model that also makes butter. I didn't know this at the time, but butter churns are expesive and hard to find. The blender works, but it is a real pain because it chops the butter globules up into tiny pieces, so you have to scoop and pack constantly.
Review: Other than the afore' mentioned concerns the machine has been performing quite nicely and they are satisfied/pleased with the pu - We purchased this cream separator for some Amish friends. I asked them about their likes and dislikes in order to give a fair review. Their comments were that the assembly instructions left a bit to be desired, but they were able to figure it out because another family in their community had a similar piece of equipment. The instructions called for oil to be used in the base, but failed to say what kind or how much. This was solved by trial and error. There was a bit of vibration in the machine when used, but that was reduced with the use of a light synthetic oil. Other than the afore' mentioned concerns the machine has been performing quite nicely and they are satisfied/pleased with the purchase.

### ⭐⭐⭐ If you finally figure out how to assemble it, you probably will still give up because it keeps leaking.
*by R***I on August 4, 2015*

The instructions are HORRIBLE. Took hours playing around and in end, I'm still not 100% sure that I assembled it correctly. They really should have mailed it at least half assembled, I don't see WHY NOT, it wouldn't have taken anymore space. Instructions are also in Ukrainian (which I can speak/read) but for an item being shipped to USA, you REALLY should have English instructions! The construction quality is eh, ok. Its definitely not perfect. I think the fitment of some items is too loose in some spots, and creates leaks. It was literally the only item available that does this, in this price range, manually, so I'll give it 3 stars because, well, there's nothing else I found.
