Over the past month my original battery had really gone down hill and would only run a couple of minutes on MAX with a floor attachment.First Impressions:This FLAGPOWER replacement battery came simply packaged with a plastic cover over the contacts area, wrapped in a single bubble wrap bag, in a simple box. In my book this is a positive.... no extra, bulky, useless packaging to deal with. Note in the pictures that I had previously removed the battery from the box and then repackaged for purpose of taking pictures. When it arrived the QC sticker was intact and sealed.I've provided several side-by-side pics of this replacement batter beside the original Dyson battery. In all cases, the FLAGPOWER is on the left and Dyson original on the right. The FLAGPOWER battery looks to be well made and, aside from a few cosmetic differences in the plastic molding, it is identical in size and shape to the Dyson. In one of the side shot pics there's apparently some sort of optical illusion going on (to me anyway) as the angle of the "probe" part that inserts into the Dyson looks different between the two. But I assure you this wasn't the case and the replacement battery aligned perfectly in the handle of the Dyson.Installation of the battery on the Dyson handheld was easy- remove 3 small screws, pull old battery out, put new battery in, replace 3 screws. I had no issues using this battery with my original Dyson cradle. The first time I place it in the cradle I could tell there was more resistance to the power plug going into the port in the battery but after a few uses it seems to have loosened up a bit. Even the first time didn't feel like an excessive amount of force though so no concerns here.I don't see this as a negative in any way, but I did note that the 3 blue LED light indicators seem to be reversed in order from the way they are on the original Dyson.As for performance- the Dyson V8 runs normally and works great with this battery. I have not done a controlled test to see how long this battery will last, but as I didn't have any controlled test data from my original Dyson to compare it to, really wouldn't be of great value. But I can say that this battery has allowed me to get back to my routine of doing the entire downstairs floor each night. This routine includes using the floor brush attachment on one area rug in the den and then using the hard floor head to quickly go over the flooring in kitchen, breakfast area, dining room, and foyer. I was always able to complete this task with at least a little of the Dyson battery remaining (until it started dying) and the FLAGPOWER battery has been able to do the same cleaning routine.I plan to update this review after a few months of use, or sooner if I notice any issues with the battery. But for the time being I'm very pleased with the purchase. Not too pleased that I spent $600 on a vacuum and had to buy a new battery for it after a year.... but not surprised either. Batteries are always the weak link in cordless tools.UPDATE 1 (1/21/2018)We've been using our Dyson V8 daily for about two weeks now with the replacement battery. So far no issues at all. Excellent! product! I cannot be happier. We happened to call Dyson and they stated the battery for our particular vacuum was no longer being offered. They told us we could receive a 20% discount if we purchased a new vacuum which, was more uptodate for $300 plus with a discount... crazy! Absolutely not! Our vacuum is only 5 years old and it never worked properly. Anyway, I'm so thankful this battery was offered on Amazon and it works like a charm.
