I'm also a sucker for kid's books that have diverse characters. The child in the book has brown skin with brown curly hair. The concepts are kept simple so they can really absorb the mechanical lesson and the characters are engaging and keep them interested. The book begins with a blue bird and explaining how it flies. The bird is then a constant character through the end, flying in the plane and rocket as well as the book simply explains how those objects fly.
