I used to make a similar version out of Lush's calamine-based Fresh Farmacy and had great luck with overnight spot lessening. This is much easier to use as it is just always sitting on the cabinet ready to go, but I think the thicker, pastier version I made might be slightly more effective. I did notice a reduction in redness and it did stop a couple of larger, deeper acne spots from coming up. However, it doesn't seem to be having an effect on smaller acne patches. Not a one product for all your needs but definitely something I am happy to have in my arsenal. If I feel a large spot coming up that has not yet presented, this is my current go-to.
