You need to slightly overfill the bottom tray, then press the top tray onto it. The excess water squirts out the little holes in the top. The trays are stiffer than a typical ice tray, and they're harder to twist. A few iceballs always stay in the container and require a whack to get out. The container seals well, but it doesn't have a tab or lip to help you get the lid off, so you have to use a fingernail to lift the lid. The container and the trays stack together nicely.Surprisingly, the ice seems to last longer than regular ice. They fit into the neck of a bottle, and they are definitely cute.
