Review: Best of All Worlds? - Best of All Worlds? I’m a watch guy: mechanical, battery, light powered, lighted dial, high tech (altimeter, etc.), looks including the band. I had my Tissot serviced and learned about “automatic” watches. I had recently purchased a Citizen Ecodrive that is powered by light and they jewelry store told me about “automatic” watches but I didn’t really understand what she was saying. Then, I guess I “attracted” the knowledge (I wasn’t searching for it, so I don’t think it was a Google algorithm) and bought an Armetron for like $150 because I found a good price on it and learned about Armetron as a good “family” company. I liked the idea of no battery, cool skeletal design. Now to this A-Alps. I was tired of having batteries replaced along with the expense so I bought some tools to replace them myself but not all DIY really works well (getting the backs off, and replacing the battery and sealing the back on – not easy). So I searched for an inexpensive automatic. One more caveat, I decided I don’t like calendar watches – I DO like calendars however – but the variance in days of the month is a hassle to deal with. And it wanted an inexpensive but a reasonable quality one. So those were my variables along with one more: being able to see the hands easily – some are true skeletons where it is hard to see the hands. But none of the OLEVS, Invictas, Gutes on Benyars (names I never knew before) were less than $50 and then I found this A-Alps. Couldn’t find anything about the company but the reviews were good – except for how they worked. It seemed that people were confused and thought they weren’t automatic. And then other users talking about watching the mainspring and when they did or didn’t need to be wound. Woweee lots of stuff to consider, right? Well this one hits them all. I also read about maintenance: wall watches need it: lubrication and wear. And I just learned how to update my review so they won’t only be “out-of-the-box” but performance ones as well. Stay tuned!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really wanted to write this review

I wanted to write a review because I was skeptical of this watch given that it was inexpensive. It has a nice weight and looks classy. There were many color and pattern options which is nice. It looks great and I have gotten quite a few compliments. I can’t remember if the product pictures showed the bottom of the watch and I know no one is going to see it while it’s on my wrist however I enjoy looking at it before I put it on each time. I included a video to show it. The bottom is as stylish as the top. I cannot vouch for water resistance yet and I will come back and alter my review if there is any issues. I take all my watches into the hot tub for the official test and just have not gotten around to it. I have two complaints that would not stop me from purchasing another one of these watches if needed. First, The wristband is extremely difficult to adjust with the tool included. The adjustment tool bent when I tried to use it and then broke. I spent a couple dollars and brought it to the jeweler and he also had a very difficult time adjusting it. Not a dealbreaker for me but might be for some. Second, I know I’m older now but I needed a microscope AND and magnifier glass to read the instructions! This is a self winding watch and it seems to keep good time. It stays wound through the movements of your wrist while wearing it. With that said if you don’t wear it regularly you will have to set it and wind it before using it. Enjoy
