Review: Great battery trim router - This is a fantastic trim router. I have only used mains powered ones previously, so was a little dubious about its power and the weight with a battery. All fears unfounded - this is great, really great. I would not go back to a mains unit now. The Metabo is exactly the same as the Hikoki (Hitatchi) unit and it works perfectly well with the Hitatchi and Hikoki batteries (I have both older Hitatchi and newer Hikoki branded batteries and they are both fine). I bought the Metabo unit, simply because it was cheaper! :-) Great value, super quality

**Q: Does this router accept the latest metabo battery packs**
A: Not sure , it’s a strange one because it fits the hikoki battery’s , it’s a hikoki piece of kit other than the name on the side , it’s the hikoki green colour aswell not the dark green metabo colour, by all accounts metabo and hikoki don’t use the same battery design with the cordless range, so I wouldn’t want to say , I only know it fits my hikoki batteries , wish I could of been more helpful with your enquiry,

This is a fantastic trim router. I have only used mains powered ones previously, so was a little dubious about its power and the weight with a battery. All fears unfounded - this is great, really great. I would not go back to a mains unit now. The Metabo is exactly the same as the Hikoki (Hitatchi) unit and it works perfectly well with the Hitatchi and Hikoki batteries (I have both older Hitatchi and newer Hikoki branded batteries and they are both fine). I bought the Metabo unit, simply because it was cheaper! :-) Great value, super quality
