Review: Beautiful Gold Fondant - This product was so much better than I expected and did not create an off flavor. I mixed with Everclear and was able to paint it onto the cake without any issues. It dried quickly and adhered very well. I did follow a recommendation from another cake creator who suggested to color the fondant with gold food coloring prior to applying a gold paint. The gold food coloring just creates a warm yellow colored underbase to help hide blend in any areas with lighter coverage or bare spots. I used the Americolor gold.

A: You can dry dust it on or add to a little bit of liquid ( you can use vodka, olive oil, vanilla extract, etc) and paint it on with a brush.

**Q: Strawberries …. if i first dip in chocolate how do i add the gold dust? does it need to be mixed with liquid or can i just sprinkle the dust directly?**
A: I mixed directly on my candy to make it colorful.  The powder is very thin. I think you can sprinkle in the chocolate.

This product was so much better than I expected and did not create an off flavor. I mixed with Everclear and was able to paint it onto the cake without any issues. A little goes a long way. I bought it to coat marshmallows. I coated two full bags of marshmallows and still have some gold dust left. Great luster and tasteless.
