Or is it better to just cut them out** A: This #1 Mat Remover for Dogs and Cats works great to remove mats and dirt from pet's fur. I would definitely try it to remove burs and sticky stuff too. **Q: Photos show it right handed and others left handed, which is it? pls do not answer that you can use it for both. I am a cat breeder and I know u can't** A: It is meant to be used with the right hand - there are curved "teeth" and if you held it in your left hand the teeth would be going the wrong direction. But I suppose you could make it work with your left hand by holding it "backwards". **Q: Can the teeth be reversed?** A: No, for safety reasons the teeth are not removable. You can brush/comb with either hands & either way. **Q: can i cut my cat with this tool? how safe is it?** A: The teeth are not sharp - I don't think you could harm you cat with it. It does tug if the mats are tight - it's helpful to have someone hold the cat while you use the tool ## Frequently Bought Together - Pets First Professional Pet Mat Remover - Dematting Tool for Grooming Cats & Dogs - Removes Matted Fur, Tangles, Knots, Loose Hair & Dirt - Stainless Steel, Gentle Teeth, Soft Comfort Grip Handle,Blue - Cyhdddr 5Pcs Knotting Comb for Cats, Pet Knotting Comb De Knotting Comb for Dog Pet Hair Removal Tool Cat Dog Grooming Supplies Matted Fur Remover --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/353989440-professional-pet-mat-remover-dematting-tool-for-grooming-cats-dogs](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/353989440-professional-pet-mat-remover-dematting-tool-for-grooming-cats-dogs) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
