Any flavor Catalina Crunch has is gone in the first seconds of chewing and because it is so hard you need to sit there and grind it down into sand, flavorless sand. Magic Spoons texture is so close it is almost identical to grain cereal. The flavors are also good enough that they stay with you while chewing, which takes a fraction of the time that it does with Catalina Crunch, because it isn't the hardest carbon based material known to man. Bottom line, if you are trying to be low sugar and low carb, this is your cereal. I wish it was a little more affordable but that is the way it goes in this market of low carb low sugar. But it's full of sugar and carbs & I know it's awful for me. So I was looking for an alternative & along came Magic Spoon. 1 - It's decent. It's not great! I like to eat cereal dry like a little snack. Magic Spoon doesn't cut it. BUT, when milk is poured over it, it's definitely much better & knowing that it's WAY better for me than a regular bowl of cereal, I happily eat it up 2 - It fills me up & keeps me full! Regular cereal, gives me a sugar rush, then sugar crash & I'm left hungry an hour later. Magic Spoon however....amazing! I can eat a bowl for breakfast & often my family is coming to me asking when we're eating lunch & I'm not even hungry. LOVE THAT! 3 - It's expensive as hell. There's no two ways to slice this....it's just pricey. Period. There is no way I would or could justify buying this cereal in the same quantity or frequency as "normal" cereal because it's just way too expensive. Knowing that I could buy a Family Size box of most "regular cereals" for less than the price of a box of Magic Spoon makes it more of a special treat versus an everyday breakfast. 4 - The individual bowls are a perfect portion. I've heard a few other people complain, but I thought it was perfect. Just enough to fill me, and not wanting more. 5 - It sticks to your teeth like crazy! I cannot even articulate how badly it covers your teeth, sticks in cracks, etc. Without question, I have to brush my teeth after eating these. Overall - it's a good product. I would choose to eat this over "regular" cereal on a normal basis, but I just cannot justify the price point yet.
