First a non-adherent wound contact layer prevents trauma to fragile tissue. Layer 2 is an absorbent pad which wicks drainage away from the skin. After a recent surgery, I was sent home with just a few of these to use as sterile dressings on my incision.  I like how well they cover and stay adhered,  that I decided to order more so that I may continue to cover my incision until it's well healed.  These dressings stay adhered to skin, pull off gently, and provide that extra coverage that is needed to dress a wound.  They are non latex, and don't irritate sensitive skin. The price was great too.
