Is there a proper technique to install it?** A: With the ceramic pre filter, the water takes about 4 hours to filter through. Folks use this pre filter with the worse city treated waters. If you do not have the manual then contact use through the buyer-seller so that we can email you one. **Q: Should this filter be able to remove food coloring? note: does it, is not the question i'm asking. should it be able to?** A: I do not know that answer. I do know I would never run anything but pure fresh water through my system ever. **Q: Is this better than the sponge?
