At first, I thought I could be stingy and run it lengthwise along the seam. Wow, that did not work at all. The tape refused to adhere to the foam. I decided to use the age-old wrapping technique, and that worked like a charm (so far). It took forever to wrap it around the length of two 5' tubes, but I'm pretty sure it'll hold throughout the winter and well into the spring.The material is a bit thinner than I expected, and it will tear easily if punctured (no embedded fiber, so not like duct tape at all).
