The main reason was the sound quality of the new Panasonic system, which is much better and adjustable for our aging ears. The large keys are a huge benefit compared with the tiny keyboard on mobile phones. Entering our existing contacts into the memory was tedious but relatively simple. The ability to change ringer tones for family, friends and others is useful. The digital display is very good and shows the whole of all incoming numbers on a single line, in contrast to some BT phones which cannot show 11 digit numbers on a line without scrolling. So far it seems to be an excellent system and does what it says in the description. In particular the answering system appears to work well and can be accessed from either a handset or the base station.
