The lightweight formula does not shrink, and dries to a matte finish with a slight grain that can be painted over using any of Soto’s Paint Touch Ups or House Paints, or left as-is. Suitable for both interior and exterior application; exterior repairs must be finished with an exterior-grade paint (not recommended for continuous water submersion). Instructions to repair nail holes or other similar small defects in your wall, using our Lightweight Spackle (available in 5 colors, in a 4-ounce tube or an 8-ounce tub) or our Small Hole Wall Repair Kit (also available in 5 colors, and contains everything you need to repair small holes) -- 1) Ensure you have the right color by ordering a color chart 2) Clean surface with mild detergent or our Multi-Surface Spray Cleaner to remove dirt, dust, grease, oil and loose paint. Dry for 30 minutes. 7) Once dry, lightly sand surface with Sandpaper to level with wall or surface. 8) (Optional) Using a damp cloth, gently wipe away any excess spackle surrounding the hole. This will help blend the repair into the surrounding surface if you are not painting it. 9 (Optional) Paint over patched area with paint that matches your wall, while feathering it into existing painted surface, or paint your entire wall with a completely new color. It would not fill large holes or cracks in grout or seal it but it could cover thin crevices cosmetically if that's all you need and the color matches. **Q: Am looking for a beige-like off-white, not grey or true white, so might that be Artisan White, Situ or another option?** A: Yes. My walls are an antique white and this worked just fine. One word of warning spackle or brush on lightly because layers make it too dark.
