There's no "spot" to the bulbs. They are instead a normal flood LED. What's more annoying though is that there is a constant hum (electric buzz) that eminates from the bulbs. I contacted the seller and they sent a whole list of compatable dimmers that should work with LEDs. My dimmers were Lutron and were on that list.
