Kerry **Q: Will this fit a 1989 manual F250 4x4?** A: This does resemble a Ford type speedometer gear. This driven gear couples to a specific drive gear on the transmission output shaft. My Tremec had the 8-tooth yellow drive gear. Pull the driven gear housing out to check the drive gear color. I think the Ford parts guy would want more information before saying yes or no to that question. **Q: I have a .82 OD manual 5 speed and a 3.22 rear. What would be the best fit?** A: You will need to know the outside diameter of the rear tires, so that you can calculate the revolutions of the tire per mile. I always had to experiment to get the best fit. But the formula should be 5280/tire dia in feet = tire rotations per mile. Then tire rotations X 3.22 = driveshaft rotations per mile. Then driveshaft rotations per mile X .82 = engine rotations per mile. So if tach is showing the number just calculated (engine rotations per mile), then you are travelling at 60 mph. Now compare what the speedometer is reading to 60 mph.
