It was deep under the skin. It took 5 days for the salve to work, but it started it to drain. I have had boils before in the same place on the back, and they can take sometimes weeks to drain, even with antibiotics from the doctor. This Amish Salve made it drain for 3 days and it was done. It also helped the sore feeling on the skin. I have not had it come back in a while, and it usually comes back every few months. At this point, I bought it about a year ago, in Sept. 2019. I used it then at the end of Sept., and have not had it back for about 11 months. **Q: After you apply the salve do you cover it with a band aid ?or do you apply the salve and wait? And how long does it take to work?** A: Cover it with a band aid or gauze/tape. It will draw overnight. My cyst has gone down dramatically! *by H***D on 3 December 2025* I have been waiting to give this review until my cyst goes down completely but it’s gone down so dramatically that I think it’s good enough to share. I developed a ganglion cyst on my right thumb knuckle, my dominant hand. And it started hurting the moment it appeared. I’ve never got one before so I didn’t know what to do but it started growing fast. At first it started out small and bulbous. My thumb began to get more swollen and stiff and it hurt to bend it. It wasn’t long before I couldn’t open a bag of chips or use a lighter. And the pain was unbearable. I started to get concerned. I began reaching out to people on social media and doing research on what to do. I heard about castor oil packs so I ordered castor oil and a thumb pack (reusable bandage) and I began applying that multiple times a day. It was helping, but it was so slow. I felt like it was getting worse before it got better. Then I discovered this stuff. I read the reviews and I saw the results. There were photos of people with massive cysts that went down to almost nothing. I was amazed. Considering my options are to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars in doctors bills draining or surgically removing the cyst just to have it possibly come back I figured I should give this a try as well.
