## Description

Product description BugHunter Professional BH-04 is a bug detector designed for professional use in the security sector. It is a full-featured anti-spy device aimed at detecting wireless spy equipment ("spy bugs", hidden microphones and cameras, walkie-talkies etc.) both digital and analog. The device features an extra wide frequency range, two independent search channels with separate antennas and a built-in frequency meter to identify frequencies of detected bugs. Equipped with the informative indication system and other features BugHunter Professional BH-04 easily detects all spy devices within the shortest possible time. Key Benefits 1. Two independent channels working in the frequency range of 10 to 8000 MHz. Each channel has its own antenna and a particular purpose. ANT1 channel is designed to operate in the range of 10 to 2400 MHz, which the majority of spy devices operate in. It features high sensitivity and wide dynamic range (up to 70 dB) thus being capable of detecting even the lowest powered bugs. ANT2 is a high frequency (from 2400 to 8000 MHz) and high-speed channel capable of detecting even nanosecond signals. Using ANT2 allows detecting all spy devices (5.8 GHz digital and analog cameras, 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules etc.) Therefore, BugHunter Professional BH-04 operates in the whole frequency range without dropouts. 2. Built-in frequency meter. The device is equipped with a high-sensitive and high-speed frequency meter. It identifies types of the most popular signals including GSM, DECT, BLUETOOTH, WLAN, 3G/4G/5G. Knowing the type of the detected signal makes it much easier to find spy bugs. 3. 3 modes of operation: search, oscillograph and security mode. Search mode allows detecting and locating spy devices. Oscillograph mode is designed to display special graphs for analyzing the radio field and identifying the signal type. Security mode is for constant monitoring the area after it is cleared from spy bugs. 4. Convenient and informative color LCD screen (320 x 340 px). When searching for spy bugs, the screen shows two graphs: peak values (red) and averaged values (blue) of the detected signals. These graphs show how the radio field changes over time. Peak values graph is used for detecting digital bugs as it depicts impulse signals. Averaged values graph indicates steady signals and serves for detecting analog bugs. Therefore, BugHunter Professional BH-04 is capable of locating analog and digital bugs simultaneously. In default the device displays radio environment for the last 7.5 seconds, but the user has an option to select other time frames: 2.5, 4.5, 7.5, 12 or 22 seconds. 5. Automatic and manual adjustment of sensitivity and vibration signal activation threshold. If required, the sensitivity of the device can be adjusted so that the graphs don’t go off scale. Vibration signal threshold can be adjusted, too. Two scales on the right part of the screen illustrate sensitivity level. The sensitivity can be adjusted both manually and automatically by pressing "OK" button. 6. Background subtraction function for removing interferences. This is a full-featured alternative to filtration as the latter only muffles powerful GSM and Wi-Fi signals which prevent the detector from locating low-powered spy bugs. BugHunter Professional BH-04 eliminates interference much more effectively: with background subtraction activated, the device memorizes current signals’ levels and displays peak and averaged values of the detected signals considering background readings while searching for bugs. This way current radio field does not affect search process significantly. Background signal levels are displayed in the right lower part of the screen (Z field) and the power of the radio signals is displayed above (E field). 7. Log generation with a PC upload capability. In security mode the device keeps an alert database (spotted radio signals) which is stored in the memory. The device has 4 databases with 2000 logs in each. Each database is capable of storing alerts registered during one security mode session. Then it is updated by new data repeatedly. If connected to a PC, the device suggests generating a log in PDF file for each database separately. If required, each log file can be saved for a detailed analysis. 8. Acoustic indication with probing signal. The device features an acoustic control capability meaning that the detected signal is output to the device’s built-in speakers or to headphones. By evaluating the sound volume, it is easier to locate a bug. When close to a suspected spy bug’s location, press "COR" button. The device starts emitting special probing signal. A bug receives the signal and transmits it on its own frequency. In return, the detector receives the transfer and informs the user, if the signals match. Probing signal helps to find the precise location of spy bugs and detect those bugs which activate only in the presence of sounds. 9. Autonomous power from a Li-Pol battery . The device is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery, so there’s no need to replace batteries. The battery can be charged by 110/220V power adapter or by PC’s USB port. 10. Solid metal housing . Aluminum alloy housing protects the device from mechanical damage. Spy bugs Operating cell phones and walkie-talkies Radio microphones Wireless cameras GSM jammers OPERATING MODES Search mode . This is the main mode which is turned on by default. The device displays peak and averaged values. Impulse bugs can be detected by the peak values graph whereas analog bugs – by the averaged values graph. It’s necessary to select which channel to use: ANT1, ANT2 or ANT1+ANT2. We recommend using both channels sequentially: firstly, use ANT1 and then change to ANT2. This way you will find all spy devices around. Using both channels simultaneously is recommended only for an express analysis of the current radio field as in this case the device’s sensitivity will be limited by ANT2 channel parameters. Oscillograph mode . This is an auxiliary mode used for displaying oscillograms of the radio signal. The purpose of oscillograms is to give the user information about the radio signal’s waveform and how it changes over time in order to identify the spy device emitting this signal. The device can display data from both channels or separately from ANT1 and ANT2. It’s possible to pause rendering oscillograms on the screen for a detailed analysis of the signal. Security mode . This mode is used to permanently control the radio field when there are no unidentified signals. For instance, you can use this mode during negotiations or when you leave the area so that you don’t miss new signal sources (e.g. spy bugs with delayed transmission or remotely controlled bugs). When changing to security mode, the device estimates current radio field memorizing the signal level. Further, it will record all new active signals and add them to the database, informing the user by turning the display on, by sound signal or vibration depending on the settings. Technical features Our specialists recommend first checking furniture, dropped ceilings, holes in a baseboard or walls, different interior items, radiators etc. Start searching for bugs with ANT1 channel activated. Hold the device at a distance of 30-50 cm (12-20 in) from the investigated surface. Check if the signal level changes judging by the green graph – averaged values. If you see that the graph goes off scale and the signal’s power increases, use automatic sensitivity adjustment or adjust it manually. Investigate the place where the spy bug is suspected more closely. Do not neglect using acoustic control and activate probing signal if required. Do not forget to check the room using ANT2 channel once you finish screening with ANT1. Important! Do not stop searching, if you find one bug. Check the room accurately as there may be more spy devices around. Moreover, operating principle of different spy devices (i.e. microphones, hidden cameras etc.) varies. If you checked the room completely, stop searching, but don’t turn the device off. Instead, switch security mode on and the device will monitor the radio field informing you, if new spy bugs are activated. Important! If there are many devices emitting signals in the room, switch them off or use background subtraction function. This way you can get rid of interference and set higher sensitivity to locate all spy devices effectively. Review: a very worthy upgrade of the bh-03 - the description of the item on the product page is very detailed and describes the product well. it's a pretty specialized device, so if you need one you'll likely already understand most of the specs. i first encountered the i4 technology company via their bh-03, the previous model. that one and this one are at about the top tier in pricing for these types of specialized devices before you jump several thousands dollars to a more 'professional' model, but to do that you're likely already working in the genre. thus, the bh-03 seemed expensive when comparing with other such devices, but you had to dig below the surface to discover the amount of tech that went into a device about 2/3rds the size of a pack of cigarettes and even though the size of the bh-04 expanded, it is still very thin and will fit in a man's shirt pocket despite now having two antennas to support the two 'channels' or frequency ranges. this allows for much more flexibility and anyone who knows any rf theory can remove either antenna and replace it with one specific to the band or frequency range they expect to be looking for. the bh-03 has a fixed, telescoping antenna and replaceable batteries and the new bh-04 has replaceable antennas and a fixed battery pack charged via usb. ideally both would be replaceable because it's easy to snap off the antenna on the bh-03 and eventually, with daily usage the battery pack in the bh-04 will start to decline in efficiency and i doubt it's user replaceable. on the plus side, it seems to last forever as i've had mine for over two weeks with it mostly on as i consulted the manual and still have a full charge icon. also, you can use it while connected via usb. one thing to be aware of on the bh-04 is that they moved the power switch to the side and it sticks out from the case and doesn't take a long hold to power on making the ability to put it in a case problematic unless perhaps you put a piece of foam to stand the switch off from the side of the case--it would be easy enough to put a hole in a piece of foam and cover the switch when putting it into a case. of the differences, the most striking must be the display which now must display two channels at once if you have them both activated and it does a great job with contrasting colors and, unlike the bh-03, you can see it outside if you can get out of direct sun. it displays a _lot_ of info in such a small space. also, the new oscilloscope mode takes advantage of the new display to show waveforms of received signals which helps tremendously in analysis and the screen can be 'frozen' with just a button push. another great feature for those needing it is that if the signal is outside one of the labeled tag ranges such as gsm, wifi, 3g/4g it will display the received frequency although slightly rounded from the exact frequency some of the time. btw, it covers the 5g frequency range, but this isn't clear to those who wouldn't know because only the product page on the i4 website mentions it and it's unclear as to whether there's actually a 5g tag or label. i couldn't get one to show using my iphone connected via 5g. also, hardly any device covers the ultra short range milliwave (?) 5g which i believe is around 25ghz. like the bh-03, it's very easy for an absolute beginner to use the device. they turn on in /search/ mode and sets appropriate levels and you can also zero out interference with one button. you can also manually set levels using the up/down arrow keys. there are now external volume up/down buttons on the side which is very handy. another great feature (which must have been added at the request of those who have to write reports on what they found) is its ability to log and for the user to be able to copy the log files to a pc just by plugging in a usb cable. all in all and despite this model being nearly twice the price of the bh-03, they added a lot of value to it and future-proofed it to the point it competes more than favorably with the competition (i feel it surpases the competitors) until you jump to nose-bleed prices of devices which are basically full-blown spectrum analyzers. /guy (73 de kg5gt | wqpz784)
