I use it in a marineland emperor filter instead if their expensive ones. It does a much better job & since they are washable & reusable, a much cheaper deal. I cut it to fit 2 of the slots & use the charcoal holder in the other. It works so well I don't need to change the filter so often. My water is much cleaner with not so much stuff to vacuum out at water change time. I was able to get several filters cut out of the sheet. I use each filter for a month or two rinsing it out about every week or two. Also with rinsing the Filter does not fray apart or lose it form.
