**Q: Is this clock silent in operation?**
A: No, you can hear the mechanism ticking every second. It's pretty loud for a modern clock - most clocks I see in stores now are much quieter.

**Q: What is the depth of this clock? (I need to know if it can fit within a cupboard of mine with doors.)**
A: Not very thick. But the door cannot  be flush with the shelf obviously. The watch is not with me right now, it’s in my office. But I think you will need a 2 inch clearance. Picture an upside down “L” shape.  The top sits on the shelf and the bottom extends down. It stays in place due to its construction. It’s plastic, not heavy metal but it looks like steel. It’s a real kick to own if you are an art lover. Believe it or not, many visitors look at it and do not recognize it as something from the famous Dali painting. What can I say…we are art lovers.

**Q: Can you hang it on the wall?**
A: Sorry to say, but the answer is no.  Additionally, you might want to look at the measurements, as it was smaller than I thought it was going to be.  It is perfect for a tool bench in a shop or shelf in the house, but please do measure it.  It really didn't matter to me about the size or if I could hang it on the wall, I got this for my husband's shop and it will be just fine (and does run really well) on a shelf in his shop. If you - or someone you know - are a Dali fan, then this is the perfect little whimsical clock. Sits on a shelf and looks like it’s melting…! Great value for the cost. I have it on a bookcase in my office and it makes me smile every time (no pun intended!). Also, great conversation starter!Seller was easy to deal with - packaging was good and shipping prompt: overall smooth transaction.

I don’t know if it is by design or less accurate craftsmanship, but the hour hand does not directly lineup with the hour. This only adds to the appeal of this fun little clock. It also helps me identify coworkers with any degree of sophistication.

This is nice. It's not huge like a wall clock, but more bookshelf-sized. It is not quiet. The every-second click might not work for you in a quiet environment like a study. I also think that it should have some type of mounting idea - even if just a small Velcro strip or a hole in the faux winder knob to drive a screw. Since this just sits on the edge of a flat surface like a bookshelf, it is prone to being inadvertently knocked off and heading for the floor. Last, while it does keep time, the very small hands and warped face make it very difficult to read.But - the idea is that it is a conversation piece, and it's marvelous at that, for less than $15. If you want a primary clock, this is not it, but it's not intended to be.
