Diving for Pearls es la última obra publicada por Goldin hasta la fecha, y es una extraordinaria colección de fotografías, en su mayoría recientes y casi en su práctica totalidad inéditas. Quizás se encuentre un poco más cercana a The Ballad of Sexual Dependency (sobre todo en lo tocante al formato y la "progresión" temática del material visual) que a Devil's Playground, aunque mantiene el carácter abierto y ligeramente desenfadado de este último. Goldin es, hoy más que nunca, uno de los referentes vivos más importantes de la fotografía analógica; en este sentido es muy recomendable leer el texto que la propia autora ha incluido al final del libro, donde explica la razón de ser de esta colección fotográfica, así como el origen del título empleado. Una parte de las fotografías incluidas parece pertenecer al proyecto "Scopophilia" que hizo en colaboración con el museo Louvre en 2010, aunque el grueso de las imágenes es independiente de ese proyecto.En resumen, una obra indispensable de Goldin que, sin llegar a la magnitud de The Ballad, hará las delicias de los amantes de la fotografía analógica.
