Impressive Power, Handle with Care
I recently purchased the Oregon electric chainsaw, and I must say, I was blown away by its power. However, I learned a valuable lesson about respecting its capabilities. In my excitement, I pushed it beyond its intended use, causing it to overheat and sustain damage. But here's where the story takes a turn for the better: Amazon's exceptional customer service replaced it the very next day.The sheer power of this chainsaw is truly impressive. It can tackle a wide range of tasks with ease, from pruning branches to cutting firewood. However, it's essential to remember that even the most robust tools have their limits. Overuse can lead to overheating and potential damage, as I learned firsthand.Despite my initial mishap, I couldn't be more satisfied with this chainsaw. Its performance is unmatched, and Amazon's swift replacement process speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction. Moving forward, I'll be sure to use it with the care and respect it deserves, treating it like the fine tool it is.If you're in the market for a powerful electric chainsaw, look no further than the Oregon. Just remember to wield it with care, and you'll be rewarded with outstanding performance and reliability.

Light, powerful, and we'll built.
What a beautiful piece of equipment. I put it through 2 hard day's of continuous use without a hiccup. The saw I bought was a deal I got as a warehouse return item, and it showed signs that someone had some trouble using it; I give it 5 stars for ease of use. That's 5 stars for ease of use of a chainsaw. Read and understand the manual. The saw has tool-less tension adjustment, an electric motor, and sharpens itself. Chainsaws don't get easier than that, except perhaps a battery powered saw without a cord, but then you couldn't cut all day long. The automatic oiler requires priming /bleeding the air out before use. A simple procedure covered in the manual. Simple but perhaps not easy; it requires the removal of the bar and chain, which is akin to trying to stuff a cat into a bag (it's like that on any saw) so wear heavy gloves lest you get bit. That said, it's super easy on this saw with the tool-less bar and chain, and it only has to be done before the first use so no worries after that. I went through a bit less than a gallon of oil in my 2 days of cutting. It seemed a bit on the stingy side to my eye, I like to see a little oil on the bar, but upon examination there's no appreciable wear. That brings me to the self sharpener: I never had to use it. The saw was still sharp and cutting well after 2 days of Douglas Fir and pine. After cleaning it for storage, curiosity got the better of me though and I gave it a go. A 3 second press of the button didn't quite hit all of the teeth evenly (unplug it before looking;~) and another 3 second press was required. Wicked sharp. I may be in love. The last thing I'll mention is that the saw never heated up on me. I used an 8 gauge (very heavy) 100 foot cord to get to the work area and a 12 AWG 50 footer on the working end. Overkill perhaps; just don't think that a 100' 18AWG weed whacker cord will work, the resistance and resulting voltage drop would likely result in an overheated saw. The manual suggests 14 AWG for up to 50' and 12 AWG for 51-100' (the smaller the number the heavier the wire). That's a minimum. Use an appropriate cord and let the saw do the work (don't push it into the cut) and I wouldn't think it would ever overheat: I worked my saw hard and it was fine. (I suppose I should add to periodically inspect the air vents to see that they aren't clogged with chips) In summary, a beautiful saw. Light and powerful. Read and understand the manual. Prepare and set up the saw properly. Use an appropriate cord. Be safe and use proper safety equipment, and use the saw properly and I think that you'll be as happy as I am...as happy as you can be doing the work yourself instead of sipping a frosty beverage while watching someone else do it.

I Am Impressed! IT GETS THE JOB DONE!
This review is for the Oregon CS 1500: 15 amp, with 18 inch bar.I have used my share of gas operated chain saws, and no, this electric saw is not the same. Not the same fumes; mixing gas; buying gas, not the same weight; not the same cold start procedure and pulling a starting cord, over and over! And honestly, it is not the same power either. You cannot have it all, but if you are not in a hurry, and learn how the saw works, this little chain saw will click "all" of the dots! Yet, it would be helpful if the person that is using it has some knowledge on how to use a chainsaw. If you know the general use of a chainsaw, you will know when to back off and allow the saw to cut at its pace. I found that it will cut continuously through whatever log or tree you desire to, but again, you need to know how to manage the power of the saw. In my belief, having this general knowledge alone will resolve most of the bad reviews. Sadly, I suspect operator era in some of these cases. These are some things I learned real quick about this chainsaw:1. It has lots of power, but it will not cut as fast as most gas powered saws, but it will cut "continuously"! This is important for me, for if it did not have enough power to cut continuously, it would have been a deal breaker for me.2. It has a great tool less chain tension mechanism; easy to keep clean and actually easy to access.3. The auto chain oiler does a good job even when things are constant power for prolonged periods4. The auto sharpener is okay, I guess but I did not use it that much.5. It is lightweight in comparison to most gas models.6. Distance from power source: Actually, I had over 125 feet of cord at one point and I honestly did not notice a power drop. These are some things to keep in mind:1. Each time that the chain came off, it was operator era on my part. Abrupt movement when unintentionally encountering a small sapling was one time and the other was when I was making a cut underneath a log and moved the bar sideways.2. The chain can be placed on the bar going in the wrong direction, and this might be some peoples issue. I mistakenly placed the chain on wrong and believe me, it will not cut at all when you do this.3. I read a couple reviews concerning the plastic build of the chainsaw and they showed pictures of melting plastic around the gear. It is quite possible that this happened, but I think if you work the saw in a method inside of its capabilities, it will not happen. If the chain is being oiled, and you are not continuously pushing the saw to the point that you hear the electrical (bog down) overload sound, then this might not happen. Such a practice will make things heat up on any engine!4. The plastic build? Great, makes it lighter and cooler to the touch!5. Price? Look at it this way, I have paid contractors to cut down and cut up trees around my home a few times. The smallest tree (for one tree) was 750 dollars, and upward to over $2000 for others. One of the trees I cut with this little chain saw was larger than the 750 dollar tree. So, this saw just paid for itself 7 times over!Take a look at the attached pictures. Judging by the saw dust particles distance from the application, does it look like it was not cutting?

Excelente electrosierra

Excelente!!
