On playback, the sound was decent and clear with good bass response. I’m not a huge audiophile, and I know these aren’t as good as those old TDK type 1’s, but I think these sounds pretty great for the money. They work great for my needs! (Which is recording vaporwave and black metal, which aren’t audiophile type music anyway haha)One last note: I also really like that the tapes are one of those 5 screws type of shells and not plastic welded. But not in a sense like buying a band on cassette. there is still a pretty high hiss due to the quality of your recording machine. here’s how you can achieve a professional quality sound with type 1 normal bias. buy a usb type c to 3.mm audio jack. Plug in you tablet or phone. Set your music volume all the way up to 100 and go into your phones music equalizer and set the equalizer to none. Then on your recording machine you must have the recording volume dial set to the line before 3+ so the volume levels don’t go over 3+ but just right the line. when the music is recording do not hit pause or stop between the tracks.
