Review: Work just great. Easy to use. Great price too! - Used this along with insulation wrap, as others did, to wrap the output hose of a portable air conditioner. Until I did this, the device was pretty much useless because the hose radiated so much heat that it negated the effect of the air conditioner. Fastened the insulation in-place with this tape. Working just great! NOW the air conditioner actually COOLS the space! I did not rate "easy to remove" because it's not intended to be removed easily. It can probably be removed fairly easily however, depending upon what you stick it to, but I didn't rate this.

**Q: Does this tape come with a protective removable backing which has to be removed before applying this tape..**
A: I have found that if you tear it instead of cutting it, the ragged edge allows you to better separate the backing from the tape.

**Q: Is this painted to look like foil or is it actually aluminum? Im trying to find some aluminum tape to deter a cat from chewing cords.**
A: It's aluminum. It's basically plumber's tape used for duct work, though I bought it to use in my art. Great stuff. It should work for the cat. My cat did the same thing to all my Apple cords until I bought a set of 3 flat braided rope covered charging cords for under $10 on Groupon. Best purchase EVER. You might want to look for something something similar...it will look better than the aluminum. Amazon has these cords now ($8.99 set of 5 on Amazon Prime).

**Q: IS this tape lined or unlined?**
A: i am really not sure what you are asking but i will try. as far as lines for like straight cutting or for measuring, no there are no lines. If you are asking about maybe a coating of some sort like plastic lined, then i would call it unlined. This is just 2.7 mm think aluminum foil that is shiny on the front and sticky on the back. If you crinkle this stuff it will leave creases like aluminum foil would but it also will form to what you are sticking this to. This tape works well for taping foil insulation to ducting or taping seams of reflective material like panda film.

**Q: Will this tape work for patching a muffler?**
A: It's not quite a heavy gauge tape. I'm not sure what the spec is on the the thickness,  but Kim pretty sure they make a more heavy foil tape that can be used for a cheap/quick muffler repair.i know of some people that have done it.

The tape arrived as described with no issues I bought the tape to use to cover holes at the bottom of my HVAC unit to keep critters from getting into my crawl space and to secure ducting to vents I replaced. It has worked great, and held up, wonderfully even in the rain. It is also handy for any unexpected duct repairs. The tape is a quality product made by 3M that has good thickness and adhesion. I have no complaints as it met my expectations. I would recommend this product to others.
