Recently I've added my iPad to the mix. The only drawback I see is that there is nothing to hold the book open. Both my former racks had something--one had removable pegs and one had built in "wings" to lift and hold what I'm reading open. I've had to put a huge binder clip on one side of the rack. Today's publishers are allowing much less center margins than before. I suggest that someone in the design stage of book racks be charged with USING the rack rather than just LOOKING at it. On the other hand, when I find a product for $20 that does a $50 useful function and is adequately if not decently put together and thought out, I'm happy. With this device I'm happy.. I love it for reading or watching a iPad while laying back, arm chair or bed/pillows. I like that it is fairly light-weight.I have not tried it yet for the brush drawer or as an art easel. I have a "fountain pen brush tip" from Amazon that should be perfect for this easel. What could be better? The slots where the tilted support fit could be a better, more solid fit. There could be a way to clip the pages open, and use it as a music stand. How about an option lightweight tripod to use it as a music stand? tuner and picks in the drawer. Short term, the large spring clips of many varieties will all work. I'd still love a tripod.
