I replaced a 27 year old trim kit and their was a bit of "build up" inside the old parts. The only change that I really noticed, other than the new looking finish, was how easy this trim rotated. I guess after a slow build up over 27 years, you don't really notice the resistance. With the new trim kit, that resistance is gone, so it operates absolutely like new.
