I have been endlessly searching for that same delicate flavor. Compared to Jason's deli, this tea has a slight bitter taste and a mildly artifical flavor.I brewed this tea the same way I do all my iced tea, in a 12 oz. coffee pot that is rarely used for coffee. I put 1/4 cup of the tea leaves in the basket and only brewed while the water was emptying into the carafe. I instantly poured into a half gallon pitcher and added enough water to fill. I left the pitcher on the counter until it was close to room temperature and then placed in the refrigerator.On the second batch I decided to add a family size "green tea" bag to the carafe and put 1/4 cup of the black currant tea leaves in the brew basket. Followed the same procedure as before but instead made one gallon of tea. I prefer it brewed with the green tea as the bitter and artificial flavors were greatly reduced. It is all a matter of personal taste, some people prefer the stronger flavors in their coffees and teas. As I do not use sugar, I prefer teas that are mild, smooth, and delicate in their aromas and flavoring. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great. Unfortunately they quit carrying loose leaf tea and were unable to tell us which brand the used to carry (4 lbs lasted a while and the current staff did not know)Anyway... we had been in search of another quality black currant loose leaf tea. One without the β€œraisin” taste.We really like this one and have reordered it multiple times. When you open up the package, the aroma is divine, though it reminds me more of barberry than black currant. This aroma is absolutely not typical for black currant tea. Nonetheless, it smells wonderful... while it's still in the package. Once you make tea with it, it tastes nothing like it smells, and absolutely nothing like a black currant tea is supposed to taste. The taste is almost like any green tea, nothing special or aromatic about it. It's good if you want a cup of green tea. I'm not green tea drinker, so this taste doesn't cut it for me when I want black currant tea.
