I bought a size Large 1” last autumn when I adopted, but just purchased a Medium 1” for a better fit and couldn’t be happier! The martingale loop changes size with the collar size!Photos top to bottom: my dog’s flat collar in gray, new Medium collar out of the box without fitting, and the Large collar fitted to my dog so that the martingale loop *when closed* is safely inescapable without choking.Photo 1 shows martingales with closed loop, photo 2 with open loop, and photo 3 is a close-up on the martingale loops to show difference in size between medium and large.My dog’s comfortable collar size for everyday wear is around 17”-18”, and proper closed martingale restraint is at 15.5”.
