Efficient and effective dechlorinator for an aquarium's partial water change
Campden tablets are an efficient and effective dechlorinator and various Aquarium forums have comments going back years with firsthand testimony of it being safe for use fish tanks [both salt or fresh]. Campden handles both chloramine and chlorine. The dosage rate is 1 tablet to 20 gallons but you must allow 9 min to work before pouring into your tank.Potassium Campden seems to be way more popular with fish tank owners than Sodium Campden but none have disparaged either so it might not matter. I have chosen the potassium version as to stay with the majority. As for how to use a Campden tablet.I find it easiest to decide if the partial water change about to occur is going to be under10 gal or might it be more than 10 gallons. I then cut a pill in half (or not).1/2 pills get dissolved in 10 ounces of water with whole pills dissolved into 20 oz of water. The purpose of the above is Math is now easy, 1oz = 1 gallon. When I do a water change I use multiple pails one for siphoning old water, and all the rest holding new water+campden.I may fill & dump the siphon pail multiple times.By the time I'm done siphoning it has been 9+ minutes and the Campden pails are dechlorinated and ready to be put into the fish tank.as for Campden shelf-life. "everyone" agrees Campden in tablet form is shelf-stable for decades. I have found only anecdotal evidence that Campden remains shelf-stable once in solution form. Those that do store the solution use opaque / no-light plastic containers with air "removed" by squeezing sides. A packet of 100 tablets ought to last a fish hobbyist several years even if one were to discard the un-used solution. My opinion is a 1/2 pill costs about 4 cents whereas the cost of replacing fish is really expensive so it makes no sense to save the unused solution from a mixed 1/2 tablet. But the unused cut tablet is different, it can be saved for next time.

Works well nothing left to say
Convenience of having a pre-measured tablet form is really nice. I plan to purchase this again. No issues

Campden Tablets for Wine and Brewing
I am glad to find a product that will deal with both chlorine and chloramine disinfectants in water that is good for brewing and lactic acid preserving, but I wanted this for some seedling media that has microbiota inoculants. It would be a mistake to add disinfecting water to this project, and I wanted something fast and simple. I actually began with aquarium supplies, but ended up in brewing supplies, all with the same principle. Good to have safe drinking and bathing water, not so good for projects that rely upon microorganisms to thrive. I toss a tablet into a tub of water from the garden hose, wait a bit, (couldn't find how fast it works, but in my fish keeping days the dechlor took about 10minutes.), and then I proceed about 20minutes later to use the water. I haven't done any tests, but I'm assuming people who brew beer and make wine know what to expect with the Campden tablets or risk losing their batches. I can say I don't notice a strong chlorine/chloramine odor after the tablet dissolves.

Appeared to be effective
Needed some campden tablets to kill off whatever wild yeast was lurking in the batch of grape wine that I was starting. The product appeared to be effective and I have now started the batch with fresh wine yeast and appropriate add-ons ( sugar/pectin enzyme/etc.). Fingers crossed for good results.

works great
First time brewer. Used home grown apples including some that fell on the ground, so I needed these puppies to get it nice and clean. Seems to have done the trick- cider is still processing but it smells great and no creepy stuff floating in it.I crushed one pill per gallon of juice in a sanitized cup, added a splash of boiling water, got it dissolved, stirred it in to the juice, let it sit a bit over 24h, sloshing the bucket occasionally to keep things mixed. Ta da, clean juice.

Arrived in great condition
Writing this review, because I was worried that I was going to receive crushed tablets. They arrived complete, not one crushed tablet. As far as negative reviews about the effects of Potassium Bimetasulfite, you need to be careful how much you add, if you can taste it, you've added too much. I am using it for keeping bacteria fungus etc from growing in my Oak barrel while being stored with water. Flush out and rinse before using. One tablet for 5 gallons of water

Exactly as ordered!
All tablets were intact and arrived quickly in the original bag shown. I was hesitant about what I would get after reading a few of the reviews. All came exactly as ordered and was great!
