I have naturally curly hair but it is so fine that that I got perms in the 80s and 90s to get the same level of curl that Royal locks (plus 20 squirts of homade salt water spray).This conditioner is very rich and you only need the small dime size amount the pump dispenses for short hair. I have very fine hair and was worried this would be too rich. NOT SO. This is perfect. It softened my hair but I could feel it plumping my hair at the same time. I follow this with 20 spritz of homade sea spray (2 tsp sea salt to 8 oz water) the gel cream and then wrap my hair in a microfiber turban for about 20 min.
