Occasionally, she overdoes it or tweaks her back and in the course of a couple weeks, goes from relatively normal (we don't let her run or jump anymore as they exacerbate her injury - she's a 12 yo pittie) to practically unable to walk, stumbling, knuckling, falling, etc. We have been through multiple rounds of rehabilitation/therapy/crate rest/chiropractors/neurologists/various vets/etc. What has helped her the most is to immediately upon signs of a bad regression is to wear this brace during waking hours (especially any time she's moving about) in conjunction with hydrotherapy. It was recommended to us by her vet and has been complimented by several specialists that have seen her for being high quality and holding her in the correct position. Without the brace, she can barely stand without losing her back end, but with the brace, she can move about and it helps her maintain a semi-normal stance with her back straight and her legs under her.Honestly, I think as a worrier by nature, I had a harder time adjusting to it than she did. It looks uncomfortable. It's stiff and the leg straps look like they squeeze between her back legs. Other than some sniffing/scratching/licking the first couple days and taking a few days to learn how to move/get up/lay down comfortably in it, she has actually adjusted to it just fine and lets me put it on and take it off with no issue. I think it makes her feel better and gives her some freedom. So, to anyone that's just gotten it and feels like maybe you're punishing your dog by making them wear it, I urge you to give it a little time and really see if it's just perception or if it actually bothers them. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but once I personally quit resisting it and just started putting it on her at the first sign of trouble, we took a major step forward in getting her back issues under control. Of course, using something like this is best done under vet supervision.My only real complaint is the leg straps. The velcro wants to catch around the little loops that hold them up. I have found it easier to not take the straps out of the loops, but merely loosen them and help her pull her legs through one at a time. Overall, a worthwhile product and for my baby, it has made a big difference! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think it works *by D***S on June 24, 2025* I am no vet, but my 18-yr old dog has 2 pinched nerves along his backbone that makes it hard for him to control his back legs, so sometimes on our hardwood floors he ends up spread eagled, which has to hurt. I think this "vest" holds his backbone in place, so the nerves don't get pinched. He walks better with it on. It doesn't hold his legs in from sprawling on a hardwood floor, but somehow the backbone support makes that not happen. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well made brace. *by T***. on June 29, 2025* I bought for my dog with Ivvd. My dog wouldn't even try to walk in this,so I'm not using this brace but it is well made .One thing to consider is that some dogs will not walk in clothing are things on their body. Especially small dogs. If they won't wear clothing some likely they won't wear this brace.
