I used it to skin and “straighten” 30 white oak fence posts and it worked flawlessly. One guy was complaining about it *only* lasting 7 years… come on man, you ended up paying $18/year for it. That’s a bargain. Mine still has a ton of life left - and even if it wouldn’t cut another shaving, I can’t complain. Hell it was only $129! I’ve found more loose change than that in my couch! You definitely need a face shield. I would also recommend gloves and some sort of upper coveralls. I use my welding jacket and gloves.
