It is very thick, as it should be and in order to get it out of the bottle you will need to heat it up a bit. Do not over heat it. It has a wonderful warm vanilla scent that is very pleasant. It blends well with carrier oils for topical use, a little bit will go a long ways. It can be deffused, but you need to mix just a little bit of it to another essential oil of thinner consistency. It works really well in a burner type using a tea light candle. Thank you Oakland Gardens for your wonderful products and customer service. 💕 Review: very nice product, but use sparingly, as benzoin can cause skin sensitization - I love the scent of Benzoin, and this has a very good scent. It came well packaged and no problem with dispensing, the cap keeps it covered well with out any leakage. Benzoin is very thick and gooey so a drop reducing orifice would not work and so the other type cap that is provided works well, you can tilt the container and very carefully drop globs of benzoin into your mixtures. But caution is advised! To use the very least dilution with Benzoin, b/c while it smells so good you will want to use a lot, it can cause skin sensitization! Read dilution recommendations for essential oils and use the least dilution possible with Benzoin and read cautions about Benzoin that it can cause skin sensitization, as no warning is provided unless you do the research and look it up.
