I did a fair amount of research and looked at others that included metal construction. In the end, I liked the fact that the bands were on the top inner section as that is where my old one failed. And I liked the fact that they were aluminum - not stainless steel - which can rust over time. I also liked the increased depth over other models as it makes it easier when steaming large vegetables like broccoli.The product arrived and it looks like it is well built. We did have an issue with missing tongs, but the seller responded immediately, was very helpful and resolved the issue completely - excellent service.
