**Q: What is the effective length of the blade? not the overall length.**
A: the part of the blade that protrudes from the handle is 7" long.   The serrated cutting edge is 6.25 inches long.   I returned mine as soon as I got it because the usable blade was almost 3 inches shorter than I was expecting.

**Q: has anyone ever used this to cut 5 inch foam?**
A: I tried to use it to cut down my motorcycle seat without any success.  It couldn't get through the foam.  I gave up and used my nice Forschner 10" bread knife (under $40) and it was great.  That and a rasp was all I needed

**Q: Does this have one or two blades?**
A: This e-knife have a blade set include L-blade and R-blade , you must assembly them before you plug into " handle module".
