Installation took less than 5 minutes - this is my first replacement, and I could probably do this again in 2-3 minutes. There are several awesome Youtube vids showing the process for the Y50. Pros: - easy to do - right price - excellent viewing angles and much better color - far, FAR better contrast and color saturation than POS OEM panel - Best of all, there must be some tweak to the vids card's scalability features when connected to this panel - NO MORE FUZZY DIALOG BOXES!!! - Everything is now sharp and in focus! Cons: - the tiniest, and I mean VERY tiniest backlight bleed in one corner of the screen. Nothing more than exists on 75%+ of all laptops I've owned. Not noticeable at all unless I have a fully black screen, and what's the point of that? Summary: Lenovo should be ashamed of themselves for the POS yellow-tinted, low contrast, TN OEM screen on an otherwise stellar laptop. Everyone should do this upgrade!

Buyers beware! I originally bought this display as a replacement for my i5577’s crappy TN panel, and while it worked, it was a BEAUTIFUL alternative. Problem is: 3 days later, the screen begins flickering purple, green, white and black all over whenever anything moves within windows (it boots and everything properly, but at the login screen, nope). Very disappointed because it looked like this would be a great replacement, but... I can’t use a screen that doesn’t do what it’s one intended function is. Returning immediately.
