I have hand and forearm pain and used to use the strainers that had the long, flimsy handle; kind of reminiscent of a child’s bug net which did the job, but the handles were always wobbly and the strainers themselves weren’t very big. I say I used to, because this strainer is going to replace all of them. It is not too huge and not too small. I would say it could fit two to three bell peppers or a basket of strawberries with ease. It is very sturdy and has two (not one) rather nice handles. The holes are small enough to keep rice which is what I purchased it for. Overall, I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it and purchase again.

I have other colanders, this one is great for rinsing beans, cleaning pie weights, washing veggies... Drains better than the ones with less holes. Easy to clean/rinse out. Love that it stands on its own.
