## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can the huge black cage/handles be removed? they seem to take up a massively unnecessary amount of space.**
A: If you're buying this, then you already have batteries and Dewalt tools. So of course you can remove them, either unscrew them, or cut them off! But honestly you're gonna want to keep them on. This thing gets heavy, and you'll want to protect those expensive batteries!

**Q: Hi, i need the station to run pc & lights in a store, anything else i need to buy with this station?**
A: This unit is an inverter to change the 20v/60v DC sources into a high-load 120v AC source. It would be cheaper and safer to buy an actual UPS (Uninterupted power supply), to "run a computer for a moment". This unit, with 4x 9AH (20v/60v) batteries, will only deliver one hour of 648 Watts, or 0.36 hours of 1800 Watts, or two hours at 324 Watts, or 4 hours at 162 Watts, or 8 hours at 81 watts of constant power draw.

Most computers draw around 80-120 watts, constantly and up to 1600 Watts maximum {for a high-end gaming computer}. (More at start-up and when "doing things". Even more if you have a video-card.)

For lights, it is the same thing... You divide 648 Watts by the wattage of whatever you want to run. That will tell you how many hours you can get from it. With the 9 Ah battery packs, which it needs four of, which are nearly $300 a piece, for a total of about $1500 total for the power and the inverter. You would be better-off buying a laptop or low-power tablet, some LED lights and a 12v car battery with 80Ah of power (40Ah is usable), and a 120v inverter or using all 12v sources for the laptop and lights. (Cigarette charger for the laptop is a 12v source. 12v LED lights are cheaper and more efficient than 120v converted LED lights.)

P.S. Not all 9Ah of the 20v battery is usable. It also runs at 18v, not 20v, which is the unloaded voltage. (9Ah x 18v = 162Watts. You will get about 120Watts before the battery is "dead" and needs to be recharged. Which also kills the battery when you constantly drain it to "empty". It will last about a month doing that. The car battery will last for years, draining it to half, which is why I said you would be better with a 80Ah battery, which is 2x the power in the four 9Ah batteries. 4 x 9Ah = 36Ah and 80Ah/2 = 40Ah.)

**Q: How much energy does this unit in $ amount, suck out of a wall socket to charge 4 -20-6 ah Flex Volts in a single charge cycle? how fast can it charg**
A: This unit pulls 167 to 176 watts charging either 4Ah or 6Ah batteries. That’s 2 hours for 4 amp and 3 hours for 6 amp. The watts are continuously pulled. The unit pulls 2 to 2.5 amps during this period. 3 amps is the maximum stated 2.26 is the max observed. It also appears to operate at 80% when using watt hours as the measurement.

**Q: Is the dewalt 20/60v max flexvolt 6.0 ah battery compatible with this portable power station?**
A: yes, the 60v are just 3 smaller 20v in parallel, the plugs decided how they should be discharged and charged.
