I've tried many kinds and always find the shelf-stable varieties pretty worthless, and the refrigerated ones to work better. This one I guess is somewhere in between, as the bottle says "Refrigerate AFTER opening". But they work just as well if not better than the good kinds I have bought straight from the cooler in Natural Grocers. And at a much cheaper price! I do need to take additional capsule on the first sign of loose stool to regulate bowel movement back to normal. Also excellent pricing in comparing to much more expensive brand.
