And beautiful looks, too. Loud and powerful, cracking rim shots, but also sensitive enough for soft jazzy chops and rolls. I’m using a low-mid tuning but also sounded great at both lower and higher tunings. The brass snare strands are nice quality as is the throw-off very smooth. This drum fit right in with my big-sounding 70’s Ludwigs, right out of the box. Very happy, wish I had sprung for one sooner! The attached vid is shot on iphone and it clips out a bit, but still gives you a good idea of the great sounds this drum has. Review: Perfect snare for any genre - This snare is so versatile and the pricing is unbeatable. I’d replace the top head to get better tuning as that is standard with most snare drums. No ringing and just a full body sound.
