It is extremely well built and double walled construction. I especially like the "cowl" over the door to keep mail dry. We live in a humid, stormy hurricane area so the durability, all thick plastic construction (no corrosion), and magnetic door are just the ticket. The curved top should also shed rain well. I do kind of wish that the lag bolts were black or there was something to cover the heads, but this is a minor quibble. There are some reviews that complain about the instructions, which kind of shakes my faith in modern society. No instructions are needed, I don't even know if mine came with any. Cut 4x4 to size, stick mailbox post on it, drill pilot holes and screw lag bolts in, screw on back cover with the two short screws, slide mailbox on the rails (might need to spread them a bit), screw on mailbox with the 4 long screws. Done. It is super obvious how it goes together and despite the size and durability it is quite light. Took me about 30 mins. The included stickers are only numbers, so no street name or family name. Just so buyers are aware. Clean the surface before sticking them on. They are also kind of a childlike font in my opinion, but they work. I seem to recall "Step 2" being a manufacturer of home playground stuff when my kids were little, so makes sense. The playground stuff was almost indestructible too. If a kid tried to play "mailbox baseball" with this like they did in the old days they would hurt themselves more than the box. Though my taste is more toward a traditional-looking steel mailbox, I can't deny how practical and sturdy this one is. Probably going to last for many years, and holds way more than our old one. Your mail will be safe in there for sure.
