There is also no relief for the tapered part of the screw head so they stick out and impede the folded hinge. This should have been addressed in the design, but this is literally the cheapest junk put together. Altogether a poorly designed part, it would work if it had either a washer to stand off the arm from the attachment plate, but obviously it wasn't thought through at all. The images provided don't seem to show such a soft close feature. Is there a piece of rubber riveted between part** A: There is no rubber piece between the parts, but it's similar to a self closing hinge minus the springs. We used it to replace the hinge on a secretary desk.
